Preference - Manually making Students preference selections in SchoolsBuddy

As an admin or super admin, you can monitor student selections during the sign-up window or manually select preferences for students in a preference-based sign-up container.

Follow the steps below to manually make selections for a student:

  1. Inside the preference-based container, click on the Menu icon on the top-left corner of the page to open the menu panel.
  2. Click the Student Selections tab within the container.
  3. In this tab, you will see an overview of the Student Selections for that container's sign-up.
  4. You can either scroll down or use the search bar to find the relevant student.
  5. Select the relevant student by clicking on their name. When selected, the available activities to that student on each day of the week will appear on the right side of the screen.

  6. Select the day/s in which you wish to make selections. When selected, the available activities will be displayed.
  7. To select their preferences, tick the check box corresponding to the preference number. Preference goes as follows:
    1. 1 - First Choice
    2. 2 - Second Choice
    3. 3 - Third Choice etc.

     

  8. When the correct selections have been made click the Save, then Confirm buttons.

Once their selections are confirmed, it will show which staff member made selections with the time and date, with a red warning triangle to show that it was a member of staff who confirmed the selections and not a parent/student.

Please note: Once a staff member has selected and confirmed the choices, a selection confirmation email will be automatically sent to the parent, informing them of the activities that have been selected for their child.

 

⚠️ Important Note:

  1. Once a staff member confirms a student's selections, the parent will receive a confirmation email outlining the chosen activities.
  2. If the parent has made selections and you are updating them, two emails will be sent:

    • Selection Unconfirmed - Sent when the change is saved. Please let us know if you'd like to disable this email.

    • Selection Confirmation - Sent when the updates are confirmed.

  3. Once the container is generated, no further selections can be made. The page will serve as a historical snapshot.
