Block dates are days when activities won’t take place. Be sure to input them before In the Block dates/School Holidays generating the container—otherwise, parents will see activities scheduled on those dates.
There are two types of Block Dates in SchoolsBuddy. On this tab, you can view both types, but you can only add Container-Specific Block Dates here.
- Organisational Block Dates – These apply to the whole school, such as term breaks or public holidays. They should be added by the School Super Admin under Settings. If they haven’t been added yet, please refer to Creating Organisation Block Dates in SchoolsBuddy
- Container-Specific Block Dates – These apply only to the current container, such as a Primary School PTC day. You can add these directly from this tab.
To add a Block Date:

Select the date range when activities won't take place.

Enter the reason for the block.

Click Add.
Once all the applicable block dates are input, head to the Generate Events tab.
⚠️ Important Note:
- Block dates do not work retrospectively, they must be added before generating the container.
