Most sign-in problems come down to one of four things: no activation yet, a forgotten or changed password, a password that does not meet the rules, or using the wrong sign-in option. Work through the checks below in order.
Find your situation
| Your situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| You have never signed in before | Use your activation email |
| You have signed in before but your password does not work | Reset your password |
| You changed your password on another device | Use the new password everywhere |
| Your school signs you in with Google, Microsoft or another school account | Use single sign-on |
1. First time: use your activation email
- Find the emailYour school sends an activation email from SchoolsBuddy. Check your inbox, then your spam or junk folder.
- Set your passwordClick the link in the email and choose a password. You can then sign in on the website and in the app.
- No email?Ask your school to send a new activation email, and check they have your correct email address.
2. Forgotten or wrong password: reset it
-
Open the sign-in screenOn the website or in the app, tap Forgotten Password.
- Follow the emailUse the link in the reset email to choose a new password.
Your password must meet these rules. If the password you are typing does not, it cannot be the right one, so reset it.
3. One password for the website and the app
Your password is the same on your computer and in the app. If you reset it on one, the other will not work until you enter the new password there too.
4. Schools that use single sign-on
If your school lets you sign in with Google, Microsoft or another school account, choose that option on the sign-in screen instead of typing a SchoolsBuddy password. See Using Single Sign-on (SSO) to access SchoolsBuddy.
