Responding to an event invitation in SchoolsBuddy (app)

For parents who have received an event invitation in the SchoolsBuddy app.

Respond to an invitation

  1. Log in to the app. Pending events appear under Invitations on your Dashboard.

  2. Select the red Respond button to see more about the event.

  3. Read the event details, including the date, time and location.

  4. To give consent, tick the box next to I confirm that I agree to the conditions of this event.

  5. Optionally, add a note for the organiser, for example "I can't take my son to this fixture, can he get a lift in the minibus?". You can leave it blank.

  6. Select the green Yes, I give consent button.

What happens after you consent

This depends on how the school organiser has set up the event:

  • Auto-select after consent: the event is entered into your school diary as confirmed straight away.

  • Organiser selects later: the organiser gathers consent from all students first. Until then, the event shows in your calendar as pending selection.

When your child is selected (automatically on consent, or after the organiser has selected), you also receive an email with the details.

If you consented but the event stays as pending selection and you have not received an email, contact the organiser at your school. They may not have selected your child for the event, even after receiving your consent.
