Quick answer

Turn on both online and onsite appointments when you add the parents' evening container. Then create two sets of meetings: select In-Person as the meeting method for teachers at school, and Online (via default online method) for teachers working remotely.

Parents' evening or parent conference with both online and onsite appointments

For staff running a PTC where some teachers meet parents at school and others meet online.

This guide assumes you already know how to create a parents' evening onsite, online with meeting URLs or online with embedded video.

Allow both appointment types

When you add a parents' evening or parent conference container, choose the setting that allows both online and onsite appointments.

For example, some teachers may be working from home and can only host online meetings, while others can get to school and host onsite meetings.

The online option is the one selected in the Settings menu. Individual teachers cannot choose between a meeting URL and embedded video.

Create two sets of meetings

When creating meetings, create one set for teachers hosting onsite and one for teachers hosting online. In this example, J. Peakes and W. Reed can get to school, while I. Bowers and J. Gladstone can only host online.

  1. For the onsite teachers (J. Peakes and W. Reed), select the meeting method In-Person, then select Create Rule.

  2. For the online teachers (I. Bowers and J. Gladstone), select the meeting method Online (via default online method), then select Create Rule.

Once created, the meetings are listed with the right location for each teacher.
