Vectare Transport Integration in SchoolsBuddy
The Vectare transport integration allows schools to view Vectare transport journeys directly within SchoolsBuddy calendars.
Feature Overview
SchoolsBuddy now integrates with Vectare so transport journeys appear alongside school activities and events in the platform calendar. This allows staff and parents to see a complete view of the school day while Vectare continues to manage transport operations.
- Transport journeys managed in Vectare are visible within SchoolsBuddy calendars.
- Registers for these journeys appear in SchoolsBuddy but remain read-only.
- Vectare continues to manage transport operations and registration.
- Journeys synchronise automatically between platforms.
- The latest sync timestamp is displayed within the journey register.
- Staff and parents can access Vectare directly using Single Sign-On.
- A dedicated Vectare tile appears on the SchoolsBuddy homepage for integrated schools.
Accessing Vectare from SchoolsBuddy
SchoolsBuddy can act as a Single Sign-On provider for Vectare. Staff and parents logged into SchoolsBuddy can open Vectare without needing to enter their email address again.
- Navigate to the SchoolsBuddy homepage
- Select the Vectare tile
- You will be automatically redirected to Vectare
Log-in with one click view Log in with SchoolsBuddy
Viewing Vectare Journeys in SchoolsBuddy
- Log in to SchoolsBuddy
- Open the calendar or navigate to an activity or event
- Locate the associated transport journey
- Open the register to view journey details
- The register will display the most recent synchronisation time.
Accessing Journey Manifests
Edits cannot be made in SchoolsBuddy. Staff members can open Vectare journey manifests directly from SchoolsBuddy attendance registers to handle updates.
- Open the activity or event register in SchoolsBuddy
- Select the linked transport journey
- Click View in Vectare to open the journey manifest
The Parent Perspective
Parents can access their transport journey in Vectare directly via the SchoolsBuddy dashboard, their calendars or related communications (confirmation notifications etc).
Parents likewise will find a Vectare option on their dashboard and can select Log in with SchoolsBuddy on the Vectare Sign in page
Parents can browse further transport information from their calendars via View in Vectare
Parents can use Change Transport in Vectare to open their Vectare calendar and make adjustments to transport if required.
