**Feature to be released shortly**
GPS is a useful tool to track the exact location of buses and monitor where students are picked up or dropped off. To ensure accurate tracking, follow these steps to set up the default map location and configure GPS for each stop.
Â
Setting the Default Map Location
The default map location determines the initial view when no bus is being tracked. Without setting a default, the map will display a global view.
- On the Homepage, click on the Transport module.
- In the Transport module, click on the Config Settings page.
- Click on the Features Tab.
- Enter the default map position by either:
- Manually entering the Latitude/Longitude coordinates, or
- Zooming and scrolling on the map, then clicking the desired location.
Note: Changes may take a few minutes to update across the site.
Â
Setting Up GPS for Each Stop
If you'd like to see the bus stops pinned on the map, please enter the coordinates for each bus stop:
- In the Transport module, click on the Config Settings page.
- Click on the Stops Tab.
- To configure an existing stop, click on ‘Edit’, or click ‘Add’ to create a new stop.
- On the stop configuration page:
- Enter the Latitude and Longitude manually, or
- Drop a pin on the map to select the stop’s location.
- Click ‘Save’ to update the location information.
Once the coordinates are set, you can see the bus stop pinned in the tracking map.
